    If you select "edit Ticket" underneath the ticket line item you can add the IMEI number to the ticket then.

    If you are using an Epson printer I might have a solution for you that I use in my stores. its a small script and a hotkey software to trigger a till open

    on a side note if RD wants to integrate this I would be more than happy to help out where I can.
