SMS and MMS using the 3CX Mobile App

If you have ported a number to us or obtained a new number from us, you can use your 3CX mobile app and the 3CX web app for sending SMS and MMS.

To send and receive SMS and MMS using the 3CX Mobile app, a few settings need to be configured in the trunk by the carrier.

Please contact us before setting the destination of the SMS, then follow these steps:

1: Log in to the 3CX Management Console.
2: Go to "Admin" > "Call Handling."
3: Select the number you want to receive SMS on.
4: If the number is assigned to a Digital Receptionist, click on it.
5: After selecting the relevant Digital Receptionist, click on "Options."
6: In the "Options" menu, you will see the "Forward SMS" option.




7: The "Forward SMS" option has a drop-down menu where you can assign incoming SMS to the following groups:
  • The SMS can be forwarded to an individual user (extension).
  • The SMS can be forwarded to multiple users (extensions) that are added to a Ring Group.
  • The SMS can be forwarded to multiple users (extensions) that are added to a Queue.
After selecting the respective user or group, click "Save."
