How to use the Handling and Convenience Fee Feature

How to Configure Handling or Convenience Fees

Step 1: Add New Item in Miscellaneous Section

  1. Navigate to Inventory > Miscellaneous
  2. Click Add Miscellaneous to open the item creation popup.



Use the Type Dropdown to select:

  • Miscellaneous
  • Percentage of Total (%)


Step 2: Add Handling/Convenience Fee at POS


1. Add the configured fee to the cart during checkout.


2. Ensure only one convenience fee item is added per transaction.

Q. How is the % field calculated?
When ‘%’ type miscellaneous item is added to cart, the system adjusts the ‘Total Price’ by adding the ‘%’ amount to the total. For Example:

  • $100 item added to cart
  • Convenience Fee: 5% added to cart.
  • New Item Total: $100 + ($100 * 5%) = $105

Will the convenience fees be added after adding tax or before? You can select from the dropdown to decide whether calculation will be done before or after tax.

Q. Will the convenience fees be added after adding discount?

Yes, the Convenience Fees will be calculated after adding Discount.
