Q: How do I reset the terminal?
A: To reset the terminal to factory defaults for reactivation, press and hold the magnifying glass button until it beeps, then press it twice. Select Utilities, then RESET TO FACTORY DEFAULTS. The terminal will restart, allowing for reactivation.
Q: Can I enable/disable tips?
A: Yes, you can enable or disable tipping from the Advanced Configuration tab within the RepairDesk Payments integration settings.
Q: Can I disable tipping for deposits in RepairDesk Payments?
A: Yes, you can disable tipping for deposits by enabling a specific trigger within the Advanced Configuration of RepairDesk Payments.
Go to Settings > Integrations > RepairDesk Payments > Advanced Configuration
Enable the trigger highlighted in the settings.
Q: Can I refund the tip paid through RepairDesk Payments?
A: Yes, you can refund the tip amount by simply refunding the transaction through RD Pay. To learn more, refer to our video tutorial.
Q: How can I refund a tip or gratuity?
A: In Manage Invoices, select the invoice containing the tip, then click the tipping icon in the payment history section. Confirm the refund when prompted.
Q: Can I run a cash discount program through RepairDesk?
A: Cash Discount/Surcharge Pricing is another model available in RepairDesk Payments. With this model, the merchant can pass on the transaction fee to customers for credit transactions while bearing the transaction fee for debit transactions. However, the rate for both debit and credit transactions remains at 3%. To enable this option RepairDesk User should reach out to the RepairDesk Support and they’ll assist accordingly.

Q: Are there any additional charges for using RepairDesk Payments?
A: No, there are no hidden or extra fees beyond the transaction flat rate, terminal cost, and a $20 chargeback fee.
Q: What card types does RepairDesk Payments accept?
A: RepairDesk Payments supports all major credit and debit cards, charging a flat rate for each processed transaction.
Q: Does RepairDesk Payments support Apple Pay or Google Pay?
A: Yes, RepairDesk Payments supports Apple Pay and Google Pay at the same flat rate as other major debit and credit cards.
Q: I process over $250,000 annually. Do you offer custom rates?
A: Yes, we can either match your current provider’s rate or offer a $250 subscription credit when you sign up.
Q: How much is the terminal?
A: The terminal retails at $499, but qualifying RepairDesk merchants can get it at a subsidized rate of $240.
Q: Do we have a dedicated report for surcharge fees against customers?
A: Yes, a dedicated surcharge report is available, similar to the gratuity report.

Q: Which regions are supported by RepairDesk Payments?
A: RepairDesk Payments is currently available only for U.S. customers.
Q: Where can I find my reports?
A: Access your reports by logging into your BlockChyp account, where all account information and reports are available.
Q: Where can I view employee tips processed through RepairDesk Payments?
A: Employee tips are accessible in the Reports dropdown under Employee Reports > Gratuity Report.
Q: Where can I view cash discounts or surcharges?
A: Cash discounts or surcharges are displayed on thermal receipts, service receipts, invoices, tickets, and the POS.

Q: How long does it take to process my application?
A: Application processing typically takes 24-72 hours once we receive your application form and supporting documents.
Q: What is the credit card settlement cut-off time?
A: Credit card transactions are batched daily at 10:45 pm (EST).
Q: Does RepairDesk Payments offer capital financing options?
A: We are working with vendors interested in offering Merchant Cash Advance (MCA) options, planned for future availability.
Q: Does the terminal support 3G/4G?
A: Currently, our terminals support only Ethernet (LAN). However, we plan to introduce 3G/4G-enabled terminals soon.

Q: Can I display a promotional image, slideshow, or video?
A: Yes. Log in to your BlockChyp account to set a custom promotional image, slideshow, or video.
Q: Can I download pre-/post-repair signatures taken via RepairDesk Payments?
A: Yes, download customer signatures from the Manage Invoices section.
Q: How can I activate and use RD Pay-supported gift cards?
A: Please refer to our Knowledge Base article on the Gift Cards module for activation and usage instructions.
Q: How to Skip Line Items?
Customers experienced inconvenience and delays during the payment process in RD Payment. The mandatory display of line items, which customers neither used nor found relevant, added an unnecessary step to the payment workflow. This manual waiting period for line items became a pain point for users who wanted a more streamlined and direct payment experience. We've introduced a trigger to skip line items.
