Pre-requisites of Connect
1. RD SMS: How It Works
RD SMS allows you to send messages directly to customers. It’s a powerful tool for notifying customers about important updates, reminders, and promotions. However, it is important to note that RD SMS is designed for one-way communication, meaning you can only send messages but cannot receive replies from customers.
Key Features:
One-Way Messaging: You can send messages to your customers, but you will not be able to receive responses.
Cumulative SMS Credits: Your SMS credits do not expire. They are cumulative, meaning any unused credits will roll over and be available in the future.
Shared Number: RD SMS does not require you to have a unique phone number. Messages are sent from a shared number, which is the default for this service.
1 SMS = 1 Credit: Each SMS sent counts as 1 credit. Special characters or longer messages may be split into multiple SMS credits, depending on the length.
Special Character Limitations: Be mindful of using special characters as they may increase the number of credits consumed due to encoding.
2. Virtual Number: How It Works
3. PhonePro: What You Need to Know

2. Virtual Number: How It Works
Overview:
A Virtual Number is a dedicated, unique number assigned to your store, allowing for two-way SMS communication. Unlike RD SMS, the Virtual Number enables you to both send and receive messages from your customers, fostering more interactive communication.

Two-Way Communication: With a Virtual Number, you can send messages to your customers and receive their replies, allowing for more seamless conversations.
Requires an RD Subscription: To use a Virtual Number, an active RD subscription is required.

4. 10 DLC: How It Works with RD Connect
Overview:
10 DLC (10-Digit Long Code) is a compliance regulation required for sending certain types of messages, particularly marketing or bulk SMS campaigns. With RD Connect, you can use 10 DLC to ensure that your messages are approved and reach customers without issue.
How it works:
For this process, you do not need to do anything. It will all be done by the RepairDesk team.
