Tax Report

Overview

The new Tax Report in RepairDesk has been completely redesigned to provide accurate, clean, and invoice-level tax reporting.

The new Tax Report now follows the same calculation logic used in the Invoice module, giving you a more reliable and consistent financial reporting experience.

With this update, you can now:

  • View one row per invoice
  • Track taxable and non-taxable sales more accurately
  • Handle partial payments and refunds properly
  • Review invoice and payment details directly from the report

Accessing the Tax Report

To open the Tax Report:
  1. Go to Reports
  2. Select Tax Report from the dropdown

Report Columns



The Tax Report includes the following columns:

Store Name: Displays the store where the invoice was created.

Created Date: Displays the invoice creation date.

Customer: Displays the customer associated with the invoice.

Invoice ID: Displays the unique invoice number.

Payment Method: Displays the payment method used on the invoice.

Payment Method Behavior

  • If only one payment method is used, that method will appear.
  • If multiple payment methods are used, all methods will appear separated by commas.

Tax: Displays the total tax amount for the invoice.

Tax Calculation Rules

Accrual Accounting

  • Full invoice tax amount is displayed.

Cash Accounting

  • Fully Paid Invoice → Full tax amount is displayed
  • Partially Paid Invoice → Proportional tax amount is displayed based on the payment received

Total: Displays the invoice total amount including tax.

Total Calculation Rules

  • Full invoice total is displayed.

Cash Accounting

  • Fully Paid Invoice → Full total amount is displayed
  • Partially Paid Invoice → Amount received

Invoice Status: Displays the current invoice status.

Summary Tiles



The Tax Report includes summary tiles at the top for quick financial insights.

Taxable Amount: Displays the taxable portion of sales.

Non-Taxable Amount: Displays the non-taxable portion of sales.

Tax Collected: Displays the tax amount successfully collected through payments.

Total Sales: Displays total invoice sales value.

Tax Classes: Displays tax distribution across different tax classes.

Tax by Source: Displays tax amounts added manually from different sources, including WooCommerce, Shopify, recurring and regular invoices.

Invoice Details Drawer

You can quickly review invoice details directly from the Tax Report.

How to Open Invoice Details

Click:

  • The invoice row, or
  • The Total Amount

This opens the Invoice Details Drawer.

What You Can View Inside the Drawer

The drawer displays:
  • Invoice ID
  • Invoice Status
  • Invoice Date & Time
  • Due Date
  • Created By
  • Customer Details
  • Line Item Details
  • Total Amount
  • Paid Amount
  • Due Amount
  • Payment History

This helps you investigate invoice activity without leaving the report.
