Does RepairDesk SMS support MMS?

Yes, RepairDesk SMS supports sending and receiving MMS in the United States and Canada only.

To send an MMS, you must have an active subscription for RepairDesk Connect or the RepairDesk integrated phone system (which allows sending and receiving SMS via the 3CX mobile app).

Yes, absolutely! You can send and receive SMS messages by purchasing a virtual number along with an SMS plan.


I'm on a trial. Can I test RepairDesk SMS?

No, at present, RepairDesk SMS is only available on paid packages.

If a customer record does not exist in RepairDesk, can I still receive an SMS from them on my virtual number?

Yes, even if a customer is not saved in RepairDesk, their SMS will still appear in your SMS Inbox. SMS alerts for these messages will only be shown to default store users.


Can I send a promotional SMS blast to all my customers?
We do not recommend sending promotional campaigns via SMS.
The TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act) requires businesses to obtain express written consent before sending auto-dialed SMS/text messages. To remain compliant, please review TCPA regulations or consult your legal team.
Do SMS credits expire?

No, SMS credits never expire. If you purchase additional credits while your existing credits are still available, the balance will be added to your new subscription.


Can I track the delivery of SMS messages sent to customers?

Yes! You can track SMS delivery via the Inbox and Outbox:

Outbox: Tracks SMS messages sent from the system, showing the date, time, content, credit consumption, status, and reference number (e.g., ticket number for job notifications).

Inbox: Stores incoming SMS messages from customers.

You can also view customer-specific SMS replies under:

View Customer > Email/SMS


What is the maximum message length for RepairDesk SMS?

The maximum length for a single SMS is 160 characters. If your message exceeds 160 characters, it will consume an extra SMS credit for each additional segment.

Note: Special characters may increase SMS credit usage.


What is a virtual number, and how much does it cost?

A virtual number allows you to send and receive SMS messages without using a traditional phone line. A recurring fee applies for virtual number subscriptions, which varies by country.

Important: The virtual number subscription is separate from your RepairDesk subscription. If you cancel RepairDesk, you must cancel your virtual number separately.

Can I see why a customer has opted out of my SMS campaign?
Yes, you can view the opt-out reason in the Customer Profile.
Does RepairDesk SMS work alongside Clickatell or other SMS integrations?

No, RepairDesk SMS does not work with any other SMS integrations.

What is 10DLC, and is RepairDesk SMS 10DLC compliant?

RepairDesk is 10DLC (10-digit long code) is a business text messaging service designed to improve SMS trust and compliance.

It Enhances trust in business messaging, requires businesses to register their brand and campaign to prevent spam and ensures customers have provided explicit consent to receive messages.

Do I get email alerts when SMS credits are low and when credits are expired?

Yes, RepairDesk will automatically send an email notification to the account owner when SMS credits drop to 100 to inform them that their credits are running low.

How can I set up RepairDesk SMS?

Navigate to 9 dots > Integrations > SMS

Select RepairDesk SMS to connect the integration.

How can I set up alert notifications for user replies?

Go to Alert Settings and enable SMS alerts for all users or select specific users.

How can I track activity?
Click SMS Logs to view sent messages in Outbox. You can check incoming replies in Inbox (if using a virtual number).

Does RepairDesk SMS support 10DLC?
Yes! If you purchase a virtual number in the U.S., we register it for 10DLC compliance. The registration process takes 24-72 hours to complete. If you do not register, your messages may be blocked by mobile carriers.
