How to Perform an Exchange in RepairDesk?

Sometimes a customer buys a product and comes back later wanting a different one instead. Performing that exchange cleanly means putting the original item back into stock and ringing up the new one without throwing off your records.

RepairDesk makes this simple. You can pull up the customer's original invoice, refund the returned item so it goes back into your inventory, and ring up the new item in the same transaction. Everything stays on one record, so your sales and inventory counts stay accurate.

How can I track a refund transaction?

1. Go to Repairs > Invoices

2. Search your invoice using a variety of search filters available.

3. Click View Invoice.

The invoice details are displayed. From here you can track the complete history of this exchange transaction.

4. From the top, click the View Original Invoice link. 



This will display the invoice that was generated at the time of the first purchase. In this purchase, the refund status of the item can be found right under the item name. You would need this to track exactly invoice for the item that was returned.
